This beautiful little guy (or girl, I’m sure I don’t know the difference) showed up in our front flowerbed yesterday evening and decided to stay awhile. Wasn’t it nice for him to cooperate long enough for me to grab the camera. Of course, our son wanted to pet it. He wants to pet everything, except animals typically in need of petting. Just once, he would love to get his hands on a bumble bee. He says, “but they look so soft.” He has agreed not to go after the bees that frequent our catmint by the mailbox, but I know that someday one will stay put just long enough to send tears down my little guy’s cheeks.

Capturing a Few Spring Blooms
The daffodils finally bloomed last week, along with the forsythia and lone pear tree in our yard; so I took a few moments to snap some pictures while my son played away in the bright afternoon sun. I noticed as we spent the Easter weekend down south in Arkansas that most of their daffodils had already spent themselves, but we saw some beautiful forsythia along the way.
Winter Momentos at the Quarter-Acre Wood
Spring was in the air this weekend, and we actually did a bit of trout fishing and yard work out in the wonderful sunny weather; we even had burgers and ice cream for dinner last night (looks like some bodies are jonesin’ for spring). But before winter is completely a thing of the past I thought I would share some photos from our last snow storm at the Quarter-Acre Wood.
I’ll miss all the birds flocking to our feeders, but it’s almost time to reclaim the deck for humankind, a few potted plants and the occasional nesting feathered friend. Until then, please enjoy these momentos of winter. . .
