It has been a while since my last creative card post, but this week’s challenge from Freshly Made Sketches seemed like the perfect opportunity to use my new little elephant die. The papers all came from different sources and the twine and pink embellishments were items I already had on hand — yeah! Of course, I inked everything, but I used a pink Cat’s Eye for a more subtle look. I think this cute card would be perfect for a baby shower or young girl’s birthday.

Playing Along with the Valentine Challenge
Of course I had to play along with the first Mail It Monday card challenge. And since my husband and I have deemed February as our no-spend month, this cute little creation just might go to him for Valentine’s Day.
I used black cardstock and some heart-themed paper that I’ve had in my stash for a few years to create this quick card. I also used a border punch on another scrap piece of paper, and inked everything in black. The red shape and the “Be Mine” stamp are both from Sizzix’s Framelits — I picked them up at Archiver’s going-out-of-business sale the other day. Score! I added a coordinating heart brad and raised all the red with 3D glue dots.
This Valentine challenge card was really easy, but the simple pops of deep red really pull in the eye. Oh, I also lined the card with white paper, so that I will have a place to write all my sweet nothings to my husband.
Bee Sweet Little Gal
Cards for kids was the call of this week’s Operation Write Home Midweek Challenge, so I dug through my embellishments and found some cute little bees that were just begging to be freed. . . and of course, I just happen to have some new bee-themed paper that needed a home. Add some punched shapes, yellow Glimmer Mist, some brown ink and an orange rhinestone and I had a very simple card for someone’s little gal.
