Autumn Crisp Card

It was another day at home for my child on the mend and myself, but we did manage to get a bit creative about mid-morning. I used the Mojo Monday weekly challenge as my inspiration to create a fun fall card using the Autumn Crisp paper pad from American Crafts.

I really liked the sketch this week and stayed pretty true to the design. I used four different patterned papers and inked all the edges. I also added some extra bling with some sequins and a leaf brad that I’ve had forever in a box. The fall sentiment came from my stash of stamps and it was a perfect size for that empty spot. Everything came together nicely on a piece of kraft paper and I can’t wait to stick this one in an envelope and send to a friend.

Red Hearts and Ribbon Valentine Card

I’m leaning toward love with this Valentine card for this week’s Mojo Monday challenge. When I first saw the sketch, I immediately thought of red hearts and ribbon. . . and this is how it all turned out. Yep, red hearts and ribbon.

I love black backgrounds on my Valentine cards, because it makes the reds really pop. I’ve had this paper for quite some time and really couldn’t even begin to tell you the make or model, but I really wish I had some more. Unfortunately I’m working with scraps here, folks.

The small center heart is an embossed stamp, the large red heart was my own design and the top small heart is a brad. I added some ribbon and inked my edges and that was about all it took to come up with this little card.

Bows Give Personality to Crafted Cards

Mojo Monday set forth their final sketch challenge until the new year, and thankfully I needed a couple of cute Christmas cards for my son’s preschool teachers, which meant I just had to make time amidst all the holiday hustle and bustle to whip up some fun little cards.

I used papers from the Recollections Christmas Noel 12×12 paper pack and some white card stock from my stash. I inked the edges with white and green and pink pastels, and added stitching around the outer edges. I also punched a small shape for each of the cards to add a little flair to the white tags and embossed each tag with a different snowflake pattern. The bows were the final touch; and as you can see, they give each card a completely different personality.
