Sharing a Little “Love” Love

Sharing a Little “Love” Love

vdaycards2

Although it’s still December, the deadline for Operation Write Home Valentine cards is today (and these little cuties are still sitting in my “send” box),  so I wanted to share a bit of “love” love with you this morning. I made them right before Christmas with the intention of setting them free, but, as usual, the holidays caught up with me and the cards didn’t make it to the post.

I used different techniques and tools to create each of these cards, but what they have in common is their basic design. I added dimension by using stamps, embossing folders, punches, twine, pop dots and paper. They are both just a combination of different items at my disposal, but I like how each of them came together for a unique little Valentine greeting.

Tall and Skinny is Fun and Fresh

Tall and Skinny is Fun and Fresh

zMojo378I took some time away from the unpacking, the laundry and the Christmas decluttering this afternoon to whip up a quick card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. It called for a tall, skinny card, so I made a cute little birthday greeting measuring 5.5 x 3.5″ so that it still fit into an A2 envelope. I used My Mind’s Eye Hootenanny paper pad for all the elements except the “Happy Birthday” banner.  I inked all my edges (as usual), and popped up the circle and added one small piece of bling to the center. I think the stamp is actually an old sentiment stamp from Stampin’ Up that I’ve had for many years. I think the end result is so fun and fresh that I might have to go make another. . .

Thankful Thoughts in the Turkey Journal

Thankful Thoughts in the Turkey Journal

Last year I created this fun little turkey journal in which all our family members could write words of thanks on Thanksgiving day. I was pleased to see how many folks actually put their thoughts to pen and I had a great time rereading all the entries this evening as I applied the “2014” tab.

To create the journal, I simply covered a cheap composition book with coordinating papers and decorated the cover using a cute Simple Stories 4×6 card, stamps from where I can’t remember, paper dies and a bit of bling. I created the tab by cutting a 1.25 x 2″ piece of cardstock, folding it in half, stamping the year and gluing it to two pieces of paper (just to add a bit of sturdiness). Of course I inked all my edges to give everything some depth.

I just added my 2014 tab this evening using a coordinating piece of paper and can’t wait to see what everyone is thankful for this year. I think I might also add a few fun pictures in a couple of bare spots. Hopefully by the time this thing is full, there will be no way it will ever come close to lying flat.
