I hope everyone enjoyed the Fourth of July weekend and that you were able to safely celebrate with friends and family. My husband, son and I returned from our Wisconsin family vacation just in time to visit the fireworks stand and light up the evening sky in our own mini fashion.
Needless to say, today was all about unpacking, laundry and catching up. I did grab a few moments to myself with a JoAnn run and some craft room solitude, so I decided to create a card for the newest Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I knew I wanted to use my fun Shrinky Dinks® butterflies I created with my son about a month ago, so I decided to focus on floral and rolled with the Vintage Country collection by Recollections. I fussy cut the main flower and leaves and popped up the flower on background paper already complete with images of lace, stitching and pieces of paper. I adhered the two butterflies on the front and stamped the sentiment at the bottom. I love that I was able to create my own hootydoos for paper crafting and can’t wait to play with more Shrinky Dinks® in the future!
The texture and layering are amazing and your butterflies simply fabulous! Thanks so much for playing along with us at FMS this week!
Thank you, Jacquie. The paper did a lot of the layering for me, but I’m so glad you like the butterflies. Thanks for stopping by. . .
This is beautiful! I love your Shrinky Dinks butterflies. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Thanks, Amy. I love trying something a little different and who doesn’t like to melt a good Shrinky Dinks??? Thanks for popping over for a look.
